What is NABERS UK?

NABERS UK is a rating system for the energy efficiency of office buildings across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Unlike other UK schemes such as EPCs or BREEAM, NABERS UK combines the actual energy consumption of commercial offices with other parameters such as area and operating hours. This results in a rating from 1 star (inefficient) to 6 stars (market leading efficiency), which in turn allows for true apples-for-apples energy performance comparisons between properties.

To ensure scheme integrity, NABERS UK is administered by BRE and ratings can only be performed by NABERS UK certified assessors.

Our experience

Technik were licensed for NABERS UK as of October 2022. Our management team has performed over 50 NABERS Australia ratings from 2012 through 2015. The rules have changed little over the past decade but the methodology is near-identical between NABERS Australia and NABERS UK.

The team have exclusively managed the rating and submission process for Charter Hall from 2012 through 2015. This involved approximately 25 ratings per year with circa 5-6 assessors. They identified building rating “weak” points and worked with Charter Hall to rectify, improving ratings at no to low cost. They also implemented a series of documentation collation processes to streamline annual data collection.

Eve’s Story

Eve’s own story is one of survival, self-leadership and transformation. As a child, her parents sold their home, bought a boat and spent years at sea. By the age of eleven, she had attended eleven schools across multiple countries and was eventually withdrawn from education by her father to care for her younger brother. She studied for her O-levels alone, living in a tent without electricity, water or gas, cycling 15 miles to the local library.

Determined to build a different future, she went on to gain two degrees and a Master’s and became a psychotherapist. For over two decades, she worked with individuals to overcome trauma and unhelpful beliefs about themselves and their relationships.

Then, after 27 years of marriage, her husband asked for a divorce with no warning. They continued living under the same roof during the pandemic while navigating court proceedings and trying to protect their children from the fallout. It was a time of heartbreak, but also revelation.

Seeing her daughter struggle with anxiety, Eve agreed to bring home a puppy. Skye, a border collie, quickly became part of the healing. Lucy trained her, walked her, and talked. Through these long walks, connection returned. Skye became their quiet anchor. From that point, Eve knew she wanted to help others heal, find stability, and protect their children through the most difficult transitions.

Today, she combines personal insight with professional skill to help people have the conversations they never thought they could. Her work saves families from unnecessary harm, supports those who are ready to leave, and uplifts those who are learning to stay – on their own terms, with clarity and grace.
