What is NABERS UK?

NABERS UK is a rating system for the energy efficiency of office buildings across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Unlike other UK schemes such as EPCs or BREEAM, NABERS UK combines the actual energy consumption of commercial offices with other parameters such as area and operating hours. This results in a rating from 1 star (inefficient) to 6 stars (market leading efficiency), which in turn allows for true apples-for-apples energy performance comparisons between properties.

To ensure scheme integrity, NABERS UK is administered by BRE and ratings can only be performed by NABERS UK certified assessors.

Our experience

Technik were licensed for NABERS UK as of October 2022. Our management team has performed over 50 NABERS Australia ratings from 2012 through 2015. The rules have changed little over the past decade but the methodology is near-identical between NABERS Australia and NABERS UK.

The team have exclusively managed the rating and submission process for Charter Hall from 2012 through 2015. This involved approximately 25 ratings per year with circa 5-6 assessors. They identified building rating “weak” points and worked with Charter Hall to rectify, improving ratings at no to low cost. They also implemented a series of documentation collation processes to streamline annual data collection.

Eve’s Story

Eve Stanway had an unconventional childhood. Her parents sold up their home, bought a boat and until she was four, sailed around the world. By the time she was seven, her mum left after a difficult split, and by the time she was 11, Eve had been to 11 different schools, as they were never in the same place at the same time.

Craving stability herself and having studied for her O-levels without gas, electricity or water from a tent, Eve knew she wanted a different, more stable life for any family of her own. Two degrees and a Master’s later, Eve trained and worked as a psychotherapist for 25 years helping people overcome their limiting beliefs.

Married with two children, when her husband of 27 years asked for a divorce out of the blue, whilst blindsided by his decision, Eve was determined to try and make the split as pain free as possible for both her son and daughter.

Going through a lengthy court battle and navigating the pandemic whilst still living in the same house was challenging but Eve knew she wanted to help others in a similar situation more than ever. Re-focusing on becoming a divorce and breakup coach, she now helps parents navigate family breakdowns successfully, always with the children’s welfare at the heart of any split.

Using her psychotherapy and Coaching skills, she also helps those who need to leave toxic relationships and empowers them to stay strong and balanced throughout any marital breakdown.

Eve’s skills as both a parenting and co-parenting specialist and narcissistic abuse specialist help her clients heal any trauma whilst working on improving communication.

At the heart of what she does, she enables people to have difficult conversations that otherwise don’t get addressed and cause more problems further down the line.

My passion lies in supporting men through family break-ups, as this is key to helping children and women, preserving the essential role of fathers, and ultimately reducing conflict and toxic behaviour.

During her own divorce, seeing that her daughter was struggling with stress and anxiety, Eve listened to her when she said she wanted a dog. After spending an afternoon playing with some local puppies, Eve brought Skye home, and soon, Lucy and Skye were inseparable.

Having Skye in the family enabled Eve and Lucy to build a stronger bond. Lucy began training the pup, and they went on long walks together. The more they walked and talked, the more communication flowed between them.

Eve is determined to save other families from unnecessary conflict, especially if it will impact the children. Having experienced firsthand two marriage breakdowns and the subsequent fallout, she’s using her skills to help others regain control, move forward, and feel happy again.
